The Federal Government is in the final stages of reviving the long-dormant Ajaokuta Steel Company, according to the Minister of Steel Development, Shuaibu Abubakar Audu. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Audu made the announcement during a meeting with All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders in Kogi State at his residence in Ogbonicha, Ofu Local Government Area. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He revealed that the government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the plant\u2019s Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and is actively seeking private investors, including from China, to ensure its full revival. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe are doing a tremendous job. The journey has started, and we will be able to turn Ajaokuta and deliver results very quickly,\u201d Audu stated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The minister highlighted the move as part of President Bola Tinubu\u2019s broader economic reforms, aimed at boosting Nigeria\u2019s economy through steel sector development. He emphasized Tinubu\u2019s commitment to tackling national challenges, strengthening the economy, and improving citizens\u2019 welfare. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIn just two years, Mr. President has shown strong political will and commitment to transform Nigeria. State FAAC allocations have increased significantly, and Kogi State has directly benefitted from this boost,\u201d Audu added. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also pointed to the recent decline in food prices as evidence of the impact of the administration\u2019s \u201cRenewed Hope\u201d agenda. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In response, APC State Secretary, Mr. Joshua Onoja, praised the minister for hosting the gathering and reaffirmed the party\u2019s full backing for Tinubu\u2019s re-election. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
