Senate President Godswill Akpabio and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) have extended warm greetings to the Muslim community in Nigeria as they celebrate Eid el-Maulud, the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a message delivered through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Eseme Eyiboh, Senator Akpabio encouraged Muslims to use the occasion to reflect on and emulate the Prophet\u2019s \u201clife of peace, love and service to humanity.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a similar spirit of interfaith solidarity, CAN also congratulated the Muslim faithful. In a statement signed by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, the association highlighted the universal relevance of the Prophet\u2019s teachings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The statement noted that the occasion \u201coffers all Nigerians a moment of reflection on the values of humility, compassion, justice and devotion to God, which the prophet exemplified,\u201d adding that such values \u201ctranscend religious boundaries and point us towards building a society anchored on peace, fairness and mutual respect.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
