A prominent National Prophet, Professor Tayo Popoola, has declared that Nigeria will survive its current trials, assuring that God has not abandoned the nation.
Prophet Popoola gave the assurance in his Independence message to the nation delivered this morning at the headquarters of Divine Favour Prayer Assembly Ministries, Mowe, Ogun State, during an annual prophetic service.
According to him, God says He will not abandon Nigeria and the country shall overcome all challenges currently facing her.
He urged Nigerians to have faith in God’s ability to heal the nation, noting that God did not abandon Noah and his family at a critical moment of national crisis and depression, and will not abandon Nigeria.
He said: “During the time of Noah, the scripture says ‘every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven’ (Gen 7:23). In the midst of this crisis, the scripture says ‘God remembered Noah and every living thing with him in the ark’ (Gen 8:1).”
The cleric therefore called on Nigerians to shun sinful lifestyle and embrace righteousness, stressing that “sin is a reproach but righteousness exalts a nation” – Proverbs 14:34.
Quoting Isaiah 60:22, Prophet Popoola reminded Nigerians of God’s promise that “a little one shall become a thousand and a small one a strong nation.”
He stated that all great countries of the world today started small but overcame their crisis of growth and development through commitment, hard work, patriotism, truthfulness and sincerity.
He prayed for Nigeria to overcome the problems of insecurity, banditry, kidnapping, terrorism and energy crisis.
