Residents and indigenous people of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to rescue Abuja from what they describe as the “hands of destroyers.”

They are also advocating self-governance, including the right to elect their own governor and legislature.

At a recent gathering, community leaders and stakeholders expressed frustration with the current political structure, which relies on appointed officials.

He said, “We acknowledge the infrastructural transformation under Wike, but true representation is lacking.

“We need a political system that allows us to elect our leaders and ensure accountability.”

Dara criticised the disconnect between the government and the people, emphasising the need for a governance model that reflects the will of Abuja residents.

“Our voices must matter. It’s time for a government that serves the people, not just political interests,” he added.
