In continuation of his operational engagement in Plateau State, the Chief of Army Staff, COAS,  Olufemi Oluyede has charged troops of 3 Division of the Nigerian Army to escalate the tempo of operations against insurgents and criminals in their area of responsibility.

The COAS, who arrived the division’s headquarters at Maxwell Khobe Cantonment, Jos for his maiden operations, appreciated the troops for their resilience in tackling security challenges on the Plateau and the nation in general.

He emphasised that the nation counts on their sacrifices and selflessness to ensure a peaceful and secure environment for socio-economic advancement.

General Oluyede noted that the federal government is doing all it could to ensure their welfare and well-being. The COAS therefore urged them to give their best in their service to the nation.

During the visit, Oluyede commissioned the newly built Headquarters, 23 Support Engineers and 13 Field Engineers Regiments.

He also commissioned two 30-family blocks of soldiers accommodation to alleviate the housing challenges in the cantonment and shore up troops morale.

The COAS assured  of more interventions to improve their welfare and working conditions.

Meanwhile, the General Officer Commanding, GOC, 3 Division, who is also the Commander of Operation Safe Haven, Major-General Folusho Oyinlola had earlier briefed the COAS on the operational activities of the Division, as well as Operation Safe Haven highlighting successes, challenges and projections.

Responding, Oluyede assured of his unflinching support to the division to tenaciously pursue its mandate of keeping Plateau and contiguous states safe and secure.
