The founder of Habila Life and Mentorship Foundation (HLMF), Mr Dussah Bala has urged the Federal Government to monitor and regulate the establishment of orphanages across country.
Mr Bala made the statement during a visit to Jesus Kids with Special Needs (J.K.S) Orphanage in Kubwa, Abuja, as part of activities to celebrate his birthday.
He reiterated his foundation’s continuous support for the less privileged, including those incarcerated, sick, orphans, and widows in the society.
Mr Bala stated that he decided to celebrate his special day at an orphanage because he was an orphan too.
He expressed his gratitude to supporting foundations, including the Alice Wanny Development Foundation, Ajebota Foundation for Disadvantaged Children, Book Club with Love, and Lead Joe 1808 Foundation.
The Country Director of Lead Joe 1808 Foundation, Ike Chinedo, advised parents to avoid harmful substances during pregnancy to prevent special needs in children. He emphasized that children are gifts from God and encouraged love and acceptance.
The Director of JKS Orphanage, Mrs. Nnefemi Ajideye, thanked guests for their support and appealed for continued assistance from the government and NGOs. The Administrator, Ms. Victoria Adams, highlighted the orphanage’s needs, including financial support, materials, and transportation for the children.
