Popular political praise singer, Alhaji Dauda Kahutu, otherwise known as Rarara, has married his longtime lover, Aisha Humaira.
The bride, a Kannywood actress, is a band member of the entertainer and his chorus singer.
Former governor of Katsina state, Aminu Bello Madari, alongside other dignitaries attended the event which held in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, on Friday.
Although the two lovebirds have been in the news for long for a potential union, their eventual wedding Fatiha caught many of their fans and followers by surprise.
The event which reportedly took place after the Juma’at prayer was said to be a significant event initially planned to be low-key but significant.
According to reports, Rarara has worked closely with Aisha Humaira for years. Their relationship, according to insiders, has grown stronger both professionally and personally.
“Aisha has always been more than just a chorus voice in his songs. They share a deep connection. This wedding isn’t a surprise to those of us who know them well”, one of the reports added.
Rarara, has grown from a Qur’anic knowledge seeker who came to Kano from Katsina state, to a household name in the entertainment industry.
He is regarded as a game changer in political engagement in the northern part of Nigeria.
His rise to stardom began in 2007 when he produced the hit ‘Ruwa Baba’, a song he composed for his political master, the then Kano state deputy governor Abdullahi T Gwarzo.
He subsequently followed it with another song ‘Kainuwa’ he did for Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, then Kano governor.
Following the successes of the two releases which became political street anthems, Rarara’s profile rose and the singer became a household name and dominated the political arena in Kano and in the northern part of the country.
At national level, Rarara has long made his mark in the political sector as ‘Buhari’s singer with his blockbuster song ‘Masu Gudu su gudu.’ But in 2021, the singer did a song titled ‘Kasata’ in which he faulted Buhari’s administration.
