President Tinubu Confers National Honour on Bill Gates

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has conferred the Nigerian National Honour of Commander of the Federal Republic (CFR) on the founder of the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation, Mr. Bill Gates.

This was contained in a tweet posted on the President’s official X account on Wednesday.

The President who hosted Bill Gates at his Lagos residence said the award was in recognition of the world’s philanthropist decades-long commitment to improving lives through interventions in global health & polio eradication, education, digital innovation, and agricultural development, especially in Nigeria and across Africa.

“Bill Gates’ contributions have saved millions through the Gates Foundation and many such initiatives, uplifted communities, and inspired global action.”

The President maintained that Nigeria remains open to ideas, partnerships, and actions that move humanity forward.
