Ex-CJN Mohammed Uwais Dead

A former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Mohammed Lawal Uwais, has died at the age of 89.

Uwais, who served for 11 years from 1995 to 2006 as CJN died in Abuja on Friday, a family source told SolaceBase.

The source said arrangements are in top gear for his funeral prayer and burial.

The top Nigerian jurist born on June 12, 1936. chaired the electoral reform commission established by the late president Umar Yaradua that submitted recommended critical reforms in Nigeria’s electoral system in 2008.
