Nigeria/Israel Security Pact: Why University/Religious Scholars Must Rise to Stop The Sell of Nigeria’s Soul to World’s Most Notorious Murderers

The news that Nigeria plans to partner with Israel in “fighting” bandits, Boko Haram, and ISWAP is nothing short of a national disgrace. This is not a security agreement, it is a deal with the devil. Israel is not just another foreign power; it is a globally recognised terrorist state whose hands are permanently stained with the blood of innocents. From the daily massacres in Gaza to the decades-long occupation of Palestine, the illegal state of Israel stands as the most ruthless, genocidal regime of our time. And now, Nigeian leaders want to bring them into the very heart of our nation’s security.

This is treachery of the highest order. Israel’s record is clear: wherever it goes, oppression follows. Its so-called “security expertise” is nothing but a blueprint for mass surveillance, targeted killings, suppression of dissent, and psychological warfare, the same brutal tactics used to crush and humiliate the Palestinian people. Once embedded in Nigeria’s intelligence and military systems, these tools will not just target terrorists; they will be turned on Nigerian citizens, activists, and voices of truth. We will have invited the fox into the chicken coop, and the blood that follows will be on the hands of those who opened the gate.

This is a betrayal of Nigeria’s proud history of standing with the oppressed. It makes us complicit in Israel’s war crimes and strips us of our moral authority on the global stage. Our fight against terrorism should be fought with honour, sincerity, and partners who value human life, not with a state whose very existence is defined by the machinery of genocide and occupation.

We call on every university scholar, every religious leader, every Islamic and Christian cleric, and every person of conscience to rise and reject this satanic pact. This is not just a bad policy; it is a curse on our nation. Our silence will be taken as approval, and history will remember us as a people who welcomed murderers as “partners.”

If Nigerian leaders cannot see the danger, the people must make them see it. Nigeria must not allow its security to be infiltrated by war criminals whoa are the architect of our troubles. We must reject this unholy alliance now, not tomorrow, not next week, now. For if we fail, the day will come when the very weapons and tactics imported under this deal will be used against us, and by then it will be too late.
