In a direct response to politicians seeking to revive lost relevance by forming a coalition, that was ‘dead on arrival’, to stop President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election come 2027, the Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory, Dr Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure, has assured that the President’s results-yielding policies will no doubt guarantee his re-election bid, despite covert efforts to stop him by frustrated individuals that are sure of losing political relevance after 2027.
In an interview with FCT News Gazette yesterday in Kano, the Minister reminded Nigerians, especially northerners, that almost all those who parade themselves today as leading champions of the masses and progressive politicians were not only in government at one time or the other for years, but wielded enormous powers and resources at their disposal to transform Nigeria beyond their present slogans of today, but failed to do so.
“Some of them who made frantic efforts to be part of President Tinubu’s administration because of their selfish and future political interest and calculations, but when they lost out, they suddenly became champions of the masses”, she said, calling on Nigerians not to be fooled by these groups of self-centred pretenders and political opportunists.
According to Dr Bunkure President Tinubu’s heart is with Nigeria and its citizenry. She said whatever the President is doing, it is for the benefit of Nigerians, and especially for the benefit of future generations
Dr. Bunkure highlighted some of President Tinubu’s achievements, including the implementation of light rail projects in the six geo-political zones of the country, aimed at improving transportation infrastructure and connectivity. She also mentioned the reduction in the cost of dialysis, from making healthcare more accessible and affordable for Nigerians.
She further cited the President’s initiatives in the agriculture sector, which have boosted food production and security, and which has drastically brought down the prices of food commodities. The President has also approved the distribution of tractors and fertiliser to farmers all in his efforts to boost the agricultural sector.
“As for the FCT, where we are, Hon Nyesom Wike, supported by his team, has significantly transformed the Capital City, Local government Councils and satellite towns so that they can feel the impact of the President government and people-driven policies. In fact, we recently launched a mega project to supply water to all the area councils within the FCT”, Dr Bunkure stressed.
“We have also built unprecedented infrastructures such as road networks, schools and hospitals” she added.
Dr Bunkure also highlighted some achievements of the President in the areas of women empowerment and Education which is the most important sector in any part of the world.
She said the Ministry of women affairs, with the support and approval of the President recently launched a wonderful Programme that is aimed at improving the socio economic status of the Nigerian woman.
“President Tinubu’s policies are designed to transform Nigeria and position it among the league of nations that all Nigerians will be proud of in terms of all indices of development in the future”, Dr. Bunkure said.
“Agreed, it is normal for people to experience some forms of pains at the beginning of the introduction of positive and meaningful reforms in any society, but, the truth is with patience, over time the pains will ease off and benefits of the reforms would be felt and acknowledged”, she pacified Nigerians.
She called on northerners to vote for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who according to her has the audacity to introduce policies that will definitely transform the country.
“Nigerians, especially northerners, should not be fooled by the antics of these politically irrelevant foes, but rather focus on the tangible achievements and results-oriented policies of President Tinubu”, Dr. Bunkure emphasized.
With President Tinubu’s impressive track record and commitment to development, Dr. Bunkure is confident that he will secure re-election in 2027, despite the efforts of his detractors.
