Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has received commendations for his remarkable success in ensuring peace and security across the state, particularly in Southern Kaduna and Birnin Gwari, where violent conflicts had previously claimed innocent lives.
The Vice-Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Professor Adamu Ahmed, who made the commendation during a courtesy visit to the Governor in Sir Kashim Ibrahim House recently, praised the Governor’s commitment to peacebuilding which he described as a pragmatic result-yielding, and his efforts to promote coexistence among the state’s diverse communities.
Professor Ahmed noted that the relative peace and security in the state had created a conducive environment for academic and economic activities to thrive. He lauded the Governor’s people-centered policies, including initiatives in education, agriculture, and transportation.
The Governor’s peace initiatives, according to the Vice-chancellor, have had a significant impact on the state’s development, and the Vice-Chancellor’s praise reflects his effective leadership. During the visit, the Vice-chancellor also discussed pressing challenges facing the university, including dilapidated infrastructure and land disputes.
In his response, Governor Sani directed an out-of-court settlement for the Mando land dispute, allocated land for staff housing, and committed to helping upgrade the university’s road network. Professor Ahmed assured the Governor of the university community’s preparedness to collaborate with the state government to achieve mutual goals and objectives
