In a heartfelt Eid-el-Kabir message, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) President Archbishop Daniel Okoh has extended warm felicitations to Nigeria’s Muslim community while emphasizing the shared values that bind the nation’s faiths together.
“On behalf of the national leaders of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), I extend warm greetings to all our Muslim brothers and sisters as you celebrate Eid-el-Kabir 2025,” Okoh stated, highlighting the festival’s universal lessons of “sacrifice, love, and kindness, values shared by Christians and Muslims alike.”
The religious leader framed the occasion as a powerful opportunity for national cohesion, noting: “When we celebrate together, we show that unity is stronger than division.” He urged Nigerians to use the festive period to demonstrate mutual respect across religious lines.
Turning to humanitarian concerns, Okoh expressed solidarity with flood-ravaged communities in Niger State, declaring: “CAN is ready to help.” He mobilized churches nationwide to provide material and spiritual support, pledging to collaborate with government on relief efforts.
“This season of sacrifice reminds us to care for others,” the CAN president emphasized, calling for concrete acts of compassion. “Let us share what we have, visit those in need, and pray for peace in our country. Small acts of kindness can make a big difference.”
Okoh closed with a vision of collective progress: “Together, we can overcome any problem and build a better Nigeria.”
