2025 Karbala Arba’een Coverage: Telecommunications Services Ready for Use by Journalists – Dr Abu Ragheef

The Chairman of the Communications and Media Commission, Dr. Nawfal Abu Ragheef, has announced the completion of logistical and technical readiness for Journalists scheduled to cover this year’s Ashura pilgrimage in Karbala.

Dr. Abu Ragheef stated that the commission has successfully conducted a detailed field visit to telecommunications sites and service centers to ensure that the Commission is fully prepared to provide seamless communication services to the millions of pilgrims expected to converge on the holy city.

The Commission has launched its central operations room from Karbala to ensure full communications coverage during the Ashura pilgrimage. The room will serve as a hub for monitoring and addressing any issues that may arise during the pilgrimage, ensuring that communication services remain stable and of high quality.

All technical and logistical procedures for mobile phone network infrastructure have been completed, ensuring the smooth flow of services and accommodating the massive increase in communication and data traffic. The Commission has worked tirelessly to ensure that the network infrastructure can handle the expected surge in usage, providing pilgrims with reliable and efficient communication services.

The Commission Chairman praised the role of the technical, administrative, and engineering teams working around the clock in coordination with licensed companies to ensure optimal network performance. These teams have been exerting maximum effort to ensure that communication services remain stable and of high quality during the peak of the Ashura pilgrimage.

The Ashura pilgrimage is expected to attract millions of pilgrims to the holy city of Karbala, making it one of the largest gatherings in the world. According to Dr Abu Ragheef the Communications and Media Commission has taken all necessary measures to ensure that communication services are maintained at the highest level, providing pilgrims with reliable and efficient communication services.
