• National Competition: JOSTUM Emerges First, ABU 2nd
The Country Office of ENACTUS Nigeria has, for the first time in its 25 Years of excellence, growth and impact, presented it’s first-ever “Best VC Award”, to the former Vice-chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, Professor Ibrahim Garba.
Presenting the award yesterday during an event marking ENACTUS Nigeria Silver Jubilee Anniversary celebrations at Civic Centre Lagos, its Country Representative, Mr Michael Ajayi said the former ABU Vice-chancellor, among Nigerian Vice-chancellors, was the most supportive and ENACTUS friendly Vice-chancellor in ENACTUS Nigeria’s history.

The former ABU VC, according to Mr Ajayi, supported both the ABU Team and ENACTUS Nigeria better than any Vice-chancellor in many ways during his tenure, starting from projects identification, execution and participation at both national and world cup competitions, to linking ENACTUS Nigeria with supporters who have today become reliable partners.
Professor Ibrahim Garba who was represented at the event by the University’s Faculty Adviser, Professor MK Aliyu, thanked ENACTUS Nigeria for the award which he described as historic abd memorable.
Professor Garba who spoke with Education Monitor thanked ENACTUS for considering him worthy of such a prestigious award, stressed that “If given another opportunity as Vice-chancellor, my heart and support for ENACTUS will be my priority”.
Mr Ajayi also presented the award of longest serving Faculty Adviser to ABU’s Professor MK Aliyu for serving and leading ENACTUS ABU for more than 21 years to greater and unparalleled heights.

Similar awards were also presented to the Faculty advisers of Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University Makurdi and the University of Calabar. The duo have also spent about 21 years serving and leading ENACTUS in their universities.
In a related development, the Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University Team, like last year, has emerged the champion of this year’s edition of the national competition to represent Nigeria at the 2025 World Cup at Thailand.
Ahmadu Bello University Zaria Team, which is a four times national champion, also like last year, emerged the second best team in this year’s edition of the national competition.
Kaduna Polytechnic team which is a three times national champion of the competition, and several other universities and Polytechnics also attended the 2025 national competition.
Awards were also presented to different supporters and partners of ENACTUS Nigeria for being pillars of its success story for 25 impactful years in Nigeria.
