President Bola Tinubu has mandated the National Single Window (NSW) Steering Committee to ensure Nigeria’s landmark trade facilitation platform goes live by first quarter 2026, as revealed during yesterday’s high-level meeting at the State House.
Represented by Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, the President tied the project’s acceleration to recently enacted Tax Reform Acts and Nigeria’s $1 trillion GDP ambition.
“It’s important that we continue to stay focused on this project… to meet our timelines and achieve the results the President expects,” Gbajabiamila stated, emphasizing the NSW as “one of the transformative initiatives of Mr. President.”
With all Q2 2025 milestones achieved and platform customization underway according to NSW Director Tola Fakolade, stakeholders were urged to refine KPIs for the deadline.
“I do expect… all stakeholders have progressed with required KPIs to ensure we go live with phase 1 in Q1 2026,” Gbajabiamila directed.
Finance Minister Wale Edun called for accelerated action: “Progress is encouraging but we must shift from strategy to execution.” Industry Minister Jumoke Oduwole similarly stressed non-negotiable adherence to the timeline.
FIRS Chairman Zacch Adedeji acknowledged presidential support and commended president Tinubu for his relentless support.
