The Islamic Republic of Iran has lost its top diplomat, Hussein Ali Doosti. Until his death Mr Doosti was the Cultural Counsellor of Iran in Nigeria.
Mr Doosti passed away suddenly yesterday in the afternoon in a hospital in Abuja He was reportedly in good health in the morning but was rushed to the hospital when he reportedly complained of chest discomfort.

He was however declared dead a few hours later. His body is expected to be repatriated to Iran for burial according to Islamic rites.
The circumstances surrounding his death are still unclear, and the Iranian Embassy in Abuja hasn’t made an official statement yet. However, condolence messages have been pouring in from various embassies, religious groups, and scholars, particularly the Shia community, indicating Doosti’s significant impact on cultural and diplomatic relations.
