The Movement for North East Organisation Forum has appealed to former Kaduna State governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, to exercise restraint in his remarks on the ongoing fight against insurgency and banditry.

The chairman of the forum, Alhaji Abdulrahaman Buba Kwacham, who is also the Sarkin Fulani of Mubi Emirate in Adamawa State, made the appeal while speaking with journalists yesterday in Abuja.

He noted that the country’s security agencies, under the coordination of the National Security Adviser (NSA), Malam Nuhu Ribadu, were working tirelessly to address insecurity challenges.

According to him, the progress recorded in restoring stability in several parts of the country deserves commendation rather than criticism.

Kwacham added that security forces have achieved significant gains in reclaiming areas previously under the control of bandits, reducing incidents of kidnapping, cattle rustling, and other criminal activities.

He particularly commended the NSA for recent breakthroughs, including the arrest of some bandit leaders in Niger State.

“Everyone should take security as a personal responsibility and avoid politicizing the matter,” he said.
