Khamenei Mocks Trump’s Claim of Destroying Iran’s Nuclear Program

Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has, on Monday, rebuked U.S. President Donald Trump’s claim that American airstrikes destroyed Iran’s nuclear industry, saying Trump is delusional.

“The US President boasts that they’ve bombed and destroyed Iran’s nuclear industry. Very well, in your dreams!,” Khamenei tweed on X.

Trump had told Israeli lawmakers at the Knesset that U.S. strikes in June “completely obliterated” Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, including the Fordow enrichment facility.

The United States carried out airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear sites on June 21, 2025, but early U.S. intelligence assessments reported damage rather than the destruction of core systems, according to a CNN report on June 24.

In his subsequent tweets, Khamenei blasts U. S. peace deal proposal to Iran as an imposition rather than a deal.

“The US President says that he makes deals and wants to make a deal with Iran. ‘Dealing’ where the outcome is predetermined using coercion isn’t a way of dealing. It’s a way of imposing something, and the Iranian nation will never submit to such impositions,” he said.

He added, “The US President points out that there are wars going on in West Asia. Well, you’re the ones who start the wars. In fact, it’s the US that starts and creates the wars. In addition to their acts of terrorism, they’re a warmonger. What’s the purpose of all their military bases (in the region)?”

Khamenei’s statement drew global reactions online, with supporters urging Iran to continue developing its nuclear programme while critics hailed the U.S. attack on the Iranian nuclear facilities.
