• New Cultural Attache, Jafari, Assumes Duty
The foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mr Abbas Araqchi, has charged the newly appointed Iranian Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Gholamreza Mahdavi Raja, to prioritise the strengthening of Iran-Nigeria relations.
Mr Araqchi who gave the directive during a meeting with Mr Raja shortly before he took off to Nigeria to assume duty, emphasised to the Ambassador the importance and position of Africa in the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic.
“You must strive to ensure that Iran-Nigeria relations blossom in all fields, particularly economic and trade”, the minister stressed to Mr Raja.
Mr Araqchi wished Mr Raja a successful tenure and proactive service during his national assignment in Nigeria which is the leader of the African continent.
In a related development, the Islamic Republic has also appointed Mr Jafari Seyed Reza as the country’s Cultural Attache.
Mr Jafari who had since assumed duty in the Embassy with a series of activities including meeting with a popular Nigerian film actor and the Managing Director of Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC), Ali Nuhu.

Mr Jafari has replaced Mr Hussein Ali Doosti the, former Cultural Attache who died on 30th August, 2025 after a brief illness.
