The Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Lokoja, Professor Gbenga Solomon Ibileye, has introduced a strict 24-hour memo rule for all principal officers.
Speaking in Lokoja, Prof. Ibileye said any memo not treated within 24 hours on a working day means “consider yourself a failure,” because “destinies are tied to these memos.”
He directed Deans and HODs to act on merit, not personal feelings or ethnicity. “Do not look at faces… We are all the same. We are here for just one common thing, to aspire and develop ourselves,” he said.
The VC also vowed never to victimize anyone, citing a 1997 oath: “God Almighty, the day I use my pen to victimize anybody, take the vice-chancellorship from me.”
Prof. Ibileye, FUL’s fourth substantive VC, said his administration will prioritize speed, fairness, and service to staff and students.
