In a significant political shift, three senators from Kebbi State, originally elected under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), have finalized plans to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The move came after a closed-door meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa on Friday.

The delegation included key APC figures such as the party’s National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje; Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris; Sokoto State Governor, Ahmad Aliyu; and the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Atiku Bagudu.

Ganduje led the three senators—Adamu Aliero (Kebbi Central), Yahaya Abdullahi (Kebbi North), and Garba Maidoki (Kebbi South)—to the meeting, marking the latest in a series of high-profile defections to the APC.

This development underscores the ongoing realignment in Nigeria’s political landscape, with the ruling party continuing to attract opposition lawmakers.
