Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky, the leader of Nigeria’s Islamic Movement, has expressed profound grief over the catastrophic flooding that ravaged Mokwa, Niger State, resulting in multiple fatalities and widespread displacement.
In an official statement released Monday through his media office, the revered cleric conveyed his deepest sympathies to bereaved families while offering prayers for the injured and displaced.
“It is with heartfelt sympathy we received the sad news of the dreadful and damaging flood that struck Mokwa,” Sheikh Zakzaky stated. “We pray to Almighty Allah to bestow mercy on those whose lives have departed in the tragic incident and grant their families the fortitude to bear the sudden loss.”
The religious leader further invoked divine protection against future disasters, praying for “the quick recovery of the injured” and calling on “Almighty Allah to protect communities from such calamities.”
The devastating floods have drawn national attention, with emergency responders currently providing relief to affected residents as the community begins its painful recovery process.
