In a defiant national address, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei condemned Israel’s recent airstrike as a “foolish and malicious attack” while issuing stern warnings to the United States, declaring that the Iranian people “will not surrender— not now, not ever.” The speech came amid escalating tensions in the region following an Israeli strike that reportedly targeted Iranian military officials.

Khamenei described the conflict as a test of Iranian resilience, asserting that Israel “must be punished—and it is being punished,” adding that ongoing Iranian military operations have already weakened the “Zionist regime.”

He dismissed Israel’s reliance on U.S. support as a sign of weakness, stating that “their American allies stepping in is itself a sign of the Zionist regime’s helplessness.”

The Supreme Leader lambasted U.S. President Donald Trump recent remarks, calling them “unacceptable and explicit.” In a pointed rebuttal, Khamenei invoked Quranic verse 3:139: “Do not weaken and do not grieve, for you are superior if you are believers,” adding that “threats have never impacted the thinking or behavior of this nation.”

His remarks took on a more ominous tone when warning that “any military intervention by the U.S. in this arena will undoubtedly result in irreparable harm for them,” stressing that America would suffer “a blow whose damage will far exceed anything Iran might suffer.”

Khamenei suggested possible U.S. involvement in the Israeli strike, noting it occurred during indirect negotiations between Tehran and Washington.

“This suspicion is growing stronger day by day with the recent statements of American officials,” he said, calling on Iranian intellectuals and media figures to counter Western narratives and “not allow the enemy to distort the truth through deceitful propaganda.”

Despite the escalating crisis, the Supreme Leader struck a note of defiant optimism, urging Iranians to “continue life with strength” and placing his faith in divine intervention. Quoting Quran 3:126 — “Victory is only from Allah, the Almighty, the Wise” — he assured the nation that “the Almighty will surely and certainly grant victory to the Iranian nation, to truth, and to righteousness.”
