Starting today, Monday, eligible Nigerians can sign up to vote as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) launches its Nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR). The exercise begins with an online pre-registration phase, followed by in-person registration at designated centers from August 25, 2025.

Prospective voters can access the online portal at [www.cvr.inecnigeria.org](http://www.cvr.inecnigeria.org) to start the process. Later, physical registration will take place across INEC’s 37 state offices and 774 local government offices nationwide.

According to INEC’s official statement on X (formerly Twitter):

“The CVR exercise is open to new voters aged 18 and above, those who wish to collect or transfer their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), and individuals who need to replace lost or damaged PVCs.”

The commission issued a strong warning against multiple registrations, stating that offenders will face legal consequences. It also urged citizens to take advantage of the opportunity, stressing that voter registration is key to inclusive democracy.

For support, INEC provided contact options, including its call center (0700-CALL-INEC or 0700-2255-4632) and the shortcode 4632. Reaffirming its commitment to a credible electoral process, INEC pledged to ensure all eligible Nigerians have access to registration ahead of future elections.

“We remain dedicated to strengthening Nigeria’s democracy by enabling every citizen’s right to vote,” the commission stated.
