The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) has called on President Tinubu to urgently enforce the Supreme Court ruling that grants full autonomy to local governments.

In a communiqué issued after its National Executive Council meeting in Abuja and signed by President-General Aliyu Kankara, the union urged the federal government to act without delay.

NULGE also condemned the withholding of local council allocations in Osun State, labeling the action unjust and harmful to grassroots development.

The union expressed concern over the failure of some states to implement the national minimum wage, describing it as callous and unfair given the current economic challenges.

NULGE called on the Federal Government to intervene in the Osun situation and ensure the immediate release of withheld funds to promote peace, justice, and sustainable development.
