Senate President Godswill Akpabio has approached the Federal High Court in Abuja, demanding that suspended Kogi Central lawmaker Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan take down a sarcastic apology video shared on her social media platforms.
Akpabio’s legal team, headed by Senior Advocate of Nigeria Kehinde Ogunwumiju, filed a fresh application urging the court to compel Akpoti-Uduaghan to delete the post, arguing that it flouted a judicial directive.
The application further requests that Akpoti-Uduaghan be ordered to remove the video from all her social media accounts, publish a formal written apology in two major national newspapers and submit an affidavit as proof of compliance.
The move comes after Akpoti-Uduaghan posted a controversial video on April 27, in which she sarcastically “apologized” to Akpabio.
In the clip, she stated she was “sorry for the crime of maintaining dignity and self-respect” and mockingly expressed regret for not letting the Senate President “have his way” with her.
The video sparked widespread reactions online, with many interpreting it as a veiled dig at Akpabio amid their ongoing feud.
The tension between the two lawmakers stems from a heated disagreement over seating arrangements in the Senate chamber.
