A former ally of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and prominent political figure in Kano politics, Yunusa Adamu Dangwani, has joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), pledging to work relentlessly for the party’s success in the 2027 general elections.

Dangwani made the declaration during a defection ceremony where dozens of former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members also announced their switch to the APC.

The event was led by the Chairman of the APC in Kano State, Abdullahi Abbas, and attended by several key stakeholders of the party.

Speaking at the event, Dangwani, who once served as a top confidant of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) leader, Senator Kwankwaso, expressed confidence in the APC’s structure and leadership at both national and state levels.

“We will collaborate with APC leaders across the board to ensure the party’s victory come 2027,” he said, emphasizing that their decision to defect was based on the need to align with a party that has the capacity to deliver on its promises to Nigerians.

Dangwani’s defection is coming at a time when the APC is witnessing a massive inflow of top ranking politicians especially as Kano remains a critical battleground ahead of the next elections.

His move also signals growing momentum within the APC as it consolidates power in the state and positions itself for a strong outing in 2027.

The Kano APC Chairman, Abdullahi Abbas, welcomed the new members, noting that their defection would further strengthen the party. He assured them of equal opportunities and a level playing field as the APC intensifies grassroots mobilization.
