The Management of Ahmadu Bello University Press (ABU PRESS) has poured encomiums on its outgoing Board Chairman, Professor Ahmed Doko, for his exemplary and outstanding leadership style that catapulted the Press to greater heights within the short period that he steered the affairs of the board.

Speaking at a meeting of the Board in honour of the Chairman, the Managing Director, Alhaji Ahmed Ibrahim Ja’e, described Professor Doko as one of the best chairmen the board has ever had in terms of effective and proactive leadership.

The Managing Director revealed that the unprecedented successes recorded in the Press under Professor Doko’s visionary and open-door policy will forever be remembered in the history of the Press.

“Under his leadership and policies, Professor Doko, who introduced both academic and result-oriented industry leadership in the Press, we were able to acquire state-of-the-art machines worth several millions of naira that have positioned the Press on a level that can compete with any modern printing press in any part of the country,” Ja’e said.

On behalf of the management and the entire staff of the Press, Ja’e wished the Chairman, who is also the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) of the University, a more fulfilling and prosperous life in his future endeavours.

Responding, Professor Doko thanked the Managing Director, other board members, and the entire staff of the Press for their support and solidarity to him during the period that he steered the affairs of the company.

He said all the successes that the Managing Director attributed to him could not have been achieved without their support, cooperation, and dedication to work.
