Super Falcons manager, Justine Madugu has been nominated for the 2025 Ballon d’Or Awards.

Madugu was on Thursday included in the list of nominations for the 2025 Women’s Team Coach of the Year Trophy.

Under the tutelage of coach Madugu, the Super Falcons rediscovered their competitive edge, remaining unbeaten, conceding just once, and defeating three former champions en route to the final of the 2025 Women’s African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.

His tactical ingenuity was once again in play in the WAFCON final which saw the Super Falcons come back from two goals behind to defeat the host nation, Morocco 3-2.

Madugu, who took over the Super Falcons in late 2023, is one of five coaches nominated for the Ballon d’Or’s Women’s Johan Cruyff Trophy, which recognises the best women’s team coach of the year.

He is in competition with the likes of Sonia Bompastor (Chelsea), Arthur Elias (Brazil), Renée Slegers (Arsenal), and Sarina Wiegman (England).
