The Northern Nigeria Christian Professors Forum (NNCPF) has condemned the rising trend of divisive rhetoric emanating from some politicians and religious leaders criticizing the Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration.

According to Prof. Katuka Yaki, President of NNCPF, these criticisms are often motivated by personal interests, particularly the exclusion of themselves or their relations from appointments.”

These critics are more interested in serving their personal interests than the nation’s,” Prof. Yaki lamented. “Their actions are calculated to undermine the President’s efforts towards promoting unity, safety, and togetherness in the country.”

The NNCPF warned that such divisive rhetoric could exacerbate existing tensions and undermine national unity. “Using religious divides as criteria for appointment or criticism only serves to polarize the nation and create more problems,” Prof. Yaki noted.

The forum urged the government to caution individuals using media platforms to sow discord and undermine national stability. “The government should encourage constructive engagement and patriotism, rather than allowing individuals to pursue personal agendas that threaten national unity,” Prof. Yaki said.

The NNCPF commended President Tinubu for his efforts in promoting unity, safety, and togetherness in the country. “We urge him to continue on this path, ensuring that his policies and appointments are guided by merit, fairness, and inclusivity,” Prof. Yaki added.
