President Bola Tinubu has nominated Kayode Are from Ogun State, Aminu Dalhatu from Jigawa State, and Ayodele Oke from Oyo State for ambassadorial posts.
This was contained in a letter to the Senate President Godswill Akpabio on Wednesday, requesting for their confirmation.
Kayode Are who is a former Director-General of the State Security Service (SSS) served under the administrations of Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Umaru Yar’Adua. He later served as Deputy National Security Adviser in 2010.
Aminu Dalhatu is a career diplomat who spent decades in the foreign service before serving as Nigeria’s Ambassador to the Republic of Korea from approximately 2017 to 2023.
On the other hand, Ayodele Oke is a former Director-General of the NIA. Before his appointment in 2013, Oke served as Nigeria’s representative to the Commonwealth in London. His tenure at the NIA ended in 2017 following the discovery of over $43 million in an Ikoyi apartment, which led to his suspension and eventual removal.
